The Golden age: Doctor Who and Autism series - With Aiden
from Crohn's and Autism Awareness Advocate · host Mason Milne
Today I am joined with Aiden who is autistic and loves Doctor Who! We talk about the golden age of Doctor Who and growing up in school where we both got bullied, we say it's important to tell someone but knowing that as make and Aiden have experienced it can make the bullying escalate, asking for help is important. Aiden is a cosplayer and loves cosplaying the 10th Doctor, we talk about how we deal with negative comments to our videos. Aiden talks about why he enjoys what he does. Cosplaying is a form escapism and keeps up relaxed. Aiden expresses and talks about his autism from a personal journey, and how in school we had to try and fit in and like things our peers did as Doctor Who not many in school liked the same interest but Aiden says we shouldn't or won't change ourselves to please someone else, we are who we are and shouldn't change that. Aiden talks about Autism and Doctor Who, the future and past in a fun awesome episode! A quote Aiden relates too is below... LAZARUS: You're so sentimental, Doctor. Maybe you are older than you look. DOCTOR: I'm old enough to know that a longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired. Tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything turn to dust. If you live long enough, Lazarus, the only certainty left is that you'll end up alone. Thank you again Aiden it was a pleasure!
