Sam Snead was the most famous golfer using side-saddle.  A company producing side saddle putters is L2 Putters. John Ambrose, CEO and President of L2 Putters, calls in to talk about the lateral line and side saddle putter. The lateral line was the catalyst that got him started. John is a retired as a commercial airline pilot. The concept of being able to look at the hole while you are putting really intrigued John. This style gives your dominant style hand free reign on the putter. John said that lateral lines is the purest, and simplest way to putt but not the easiest. Will asks John if Bryson DeChambeau's tinkering with this newer style would bring more players to try it? Most people who think outside the box look into this style of putting. John said that the number one nemesis in putting is our need to control the putter so badly. We think we need to steer the ball to the cup instead of trusting your line and feeling the distance. He said it's not like throwing a ball like a lot of people say because the ball is on the ground. Holly mentioned that DeChambeau did use side-saddle putting when he was an amateur and was successful.  L2 Putters has a more conventional putter that they offer the consumer, the MOI MAXX, which has the largest sweet zone spot with the largest MOI. John said he designed the MOI MAXX head so you don't have to look at the ball when you are putting. I truly believe that looking at the ball while you are putting is the biggest waste of your talent. Your eyes are your depth perception and it's where your touch and feel comes from.  Oversize grip and a square grip. The big thing about the MOI MAXX is that it stands up by itself to allow you see your line better.
