The Good Life - Audio

In this sermon for the Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany, Pastor Chris describes Jesus' take on the good life that leads to living your best life. He does so by walking us through the the beatitudes, or the Matthew chapter 5 verses 1-12. In this sermon Pastor Chris first wonders how we should define the good life. He shows that the good life is viewed as a subjective idea in twenty-first century, western culture. He then questions this conclusions and offers what the biblical view of the good life based on God's created intent for humans: humans were made in God's image to reflect him in the world and partner with him in ruling creation. This good life has been corrupted, but those who live by in find themselves again in God's presence. Pastor Chris this explains that Jesus calls all of his followers to come into his kingdom, where the call is to put others first. This, Jesus says is the good life: to serve others. Doing so leads to our best life. Pastor Chris this concludes by calling all to serve others and find their way to the good life.
