The Good Shepherd (John 10:1-21)

We trace John 10 step by step, starting with the tension in Jerusalem after the Feast of Tabernacles and the growing anger of the Pharisees. Then the language turns surprisingly personal as Jesus describes the kind of care a real shepherd gives, while exposing how false shepherds manipulate, mislead, and live off the flock. We connect the dots to Jeremiah 23 and Ezekiel 34, where Israel’s leaders are condemned for scattering the sheep and where God promises a true Shepherd. From there, the meaning of “I am the door” comes into focus: not a vague spiritual slogan, but a picture of access, protection, and salvation that depends on Jesus Himself.
