The GOP's Alt History of Jan. 6

James and Lisa get into the Trump $250 bill, a possible $300 billion windfall for Iran, and plans for low-brow entertainment at the White House. Then the discussion turns to the GOP's absolutely bonkers alternative histories of the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. We're witnessing what could be the stupidest era in American history.Donald Trump and his supporters are spreading fringe ideas, conspiracy theories, anti-intellectualism, and a rejection of science, which are all gaining a foothold in our public discourse. It's maddening. It has never been more important for Americans to stand up for democracy. You don't have to face stupidity alone. Every week (more or less), "Life in the Stupid Times" will examine the insanity to help you make sense of the growing pile of nonsense. We are proudly pro-democracy and anti-fascist.To support the show, visit our Buy Me a Coffee account at https://coff.ee/lifeinthestupidtimes Hosted on Acast.
