The Gospel #11 - How It Shapes Our Character

from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp

Good desires can quietly take God's place when they become things the heart feels it must have. Galatians 5 describes an inner conflict between the old sinful heart and the heart renewed by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit steadily grows every part of Christlike character together, not outward traits people can simply copy. Because they belong to Jesus, Christians can expose the false saviours beneath their behaviour and delight in Christ until those desires lose power. They keep in step with the Spirit's rhythm of grace. Bible Reference: Galatians 5:16–25 Preacher: KJ Tromp
