Yet God gave barren Sarah a son by His power, making Isaac a picture of people who receive grace rather than earn salvation. Human strength cannot make anyone right with God. Jesus died for both religious pride and open selfishness, so people must turn from self-reliance, cling to God's promise, and live humbly in the freedom He gives.
