 Church Life                                                      “The Gospel Call”                                                          Acts 2:37-41 The Conviction (v. 37)    Heb. 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart..     The Change (vv. 38-40)    Repent (Lu. 18:11-14)    Ro. 6:3-4 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.   Acts 16:31-33 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family.   Jo. 14:16-17a, 26  16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper,[f] to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth,.. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.    The Consequence (v. 41) Luke's use of a specific number suggests records were kept of conversions and baptisms – numbers are given 12 more x btwn here and ch. 19 (membership roll). Pastors and church leaders need to know who they’re responsible for in their ministry.
