Well, I got this app on my phone that I can record, which will save me a lot of time. So I don't have to type up huge paragraphs, which a lot of people don't read on Facebook. So I think this is probably gonna be the best way for me to communicate what I want to share. I'm gonna start out with a word of prayer.
Father in heaven, Lord, we thank you for blessing us with truth. We thank you for the privilege that we have of being able to electronically be able to discuss this beautiful topic called Righteousness My Faith. A beautiful, most precious truth that brings us an experience that is unlike anything in this world. We ask now for your spirit to be with us to give us understanding.
We pray these things and ask them in Jesus' name, Amen. I want to start out with just reading some Spirit of Prophets' Equotes in order to establish our condition in the Garden of Eden after Adam and Eve had sinned. We're pretty much probably all gonna be on the same page on this, but just in case we're not, I want to read these because they're gonna be really important for me when I'm trying to discuss or explain, rather, my point of view. This one here is taken from Signs of the Times to like 23rd, 1902, Pegrapth 13.
As a result of Adam's disobedient, every human being is a transgressor of the law, sold under sin. Unless he repents on his converted, he is under bondage to the law, serving Satan, falling into the deceptions of the enemy and bearing witness against the precepts of Jehovah. One more from 6 BC 1074, Pegrapth 7. As related to the first Adam, men received from him nothing but guilt and the sentence of death.
Another one here from Signs of the Times, December 23rd, 1886, Pegrapth 9. There is naturally no enmity between fallen angels and fallen men. Both are evil and evil, wherever it exists, will league against the good. And one more from the Review and Herald, April 25th, 1893, Pegrapth 2.
It is through the mighty agency of the Holy Spirit that the government of Satan is to be subdued and subjected. It is the Holy Spirit that conventses of sin and expels it from the soul by the consent of the human agent. The mind is then brought under a new law, and that law is a royal law of liberty. Jesus came to break the shackles of sin, slavery from the soul.
For sin can triumph only when the liberty of the soul is extinguished. Jesus reached to the very depth of human will and misery, and his love attracts man to himself. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit, he lives the mind from its degradation and fastens it upon the eternal reality. Through the merits of Christ, man may be able to exercise the noblest powers of his being and expel sin from his soul.
To me, that is a beautiful statement. I enjoy the privilege that we have of forgiveness, the imputed and part of righteousness, and it's beautiful for me to be able to experience peace, knowing that I don't have to live under bondage to sin, and that God has a way, a remedy, a specific way that he accomplishes this in every single one of us. And I think probably for me, the deciding factor as to what is the real gospel, let's say, is how it has affected my life, my mind, what are my thoughts about where am I going in life, what are my desires, and everything has changed from a self-centered, selfish individual to other-centered, loving others, loving God, and wanting people to know and understand this beautiful truth that I've experienced. And so now that we see this condition that we're in, what it does for me is, what it did for me, isn't it?
It helped me to understand my condition today, that I was without hope, that I was lost. I began to read the message of the Lain de Cien Church and recognize that this applies to me. And unless something happens, I'm going to be lost. And I realized that essentially I was in a lost state.
And then I began to read first elected messages, chapter 49 all the way through to chapter 65. And I heard, I should say, some amazing truths there that has helped me tremendously to understand righteousness by faith. And so having this understanding now, it has given me the ability to share and to actually warn people about, well, I'm just going to go ahead and say it about Jackson Square's teaching and how that it can rob you of the grace that God has for you. All right, so you're listening to this now, you believe in Jackson Square, you don't like what I'm saying, you're turned off, you're maybe upset.
I just ask that you listen a little further, and I will make my point. And then after you've heard my point, you can decide whether or not what you're hearing is truth. For me, I have no doubt that it is. And when I heard this, read it, I should say, it just for all intents and purposes, then Jackson Square teaching just became a distraction.
All right, so being in that condition, I realized that I needed help. And one of the things that happened to me was I began to break down and I wept begging God to please help me. And I've done this in the past, as I'm sure every sincere one of you has done, when you have sinned and sinned, and you've just kept going over and over and over in the same sin, and you keep telling yourself that, you know, I'm not going to do this anymore. The next time I'm going to beat this thing, I'm going to and you just can't.
And you find yourself begging God, please do anything. Just help me to stop doing this. Help me to overcome. And you go at it again and you fall again.
And you don't know what in the world is going on. And the reason why this failure continues to happen is because typically when we ask as human beings for forgiveness from God, what we're doing is we're just simply saying, I am sorry for what I have done. Please excuse me. But that's not the way that God forgives us.
I'm going to try to find real quick this beautiful statement that Spirit prophecy talks about. And it will open your eyes to something really beautiful. And here it is. It's taken from the Vune Herald, August 19, 1890 paragraph seven.
Now listen carefully to this. To be pardoned in the way that Christ pardons is not only to be forgiven, but to be renewed in the spirit of our mind. The Lord says, a new heart will I give unto thee. The image of Christ is to be stamped upon the very mind, heart, and soul.
The apostle says, and we have the mind of Christ. Without the transforming process which can come alone through divine grace, the original propensities to sin are left in the heart in all their strengths, the forged new chains to impose a slavery that can never be broken by human power. And if you're honest, like me, this is exactly what I was going through. And you've probably gone through the same thing.
And so when I read this, I understood one very important thing. I wasn't going to the Lord for pardon. I was just saying, please forgive me. And what I really was saying was, please have mercy, have patience with me.
I'll get it together. But when we receive pardon the way Christ pardons, we receive a new heart. And essentially, we understand that to be the imparted righteousness of Christ. So first of all, we come with a repentant heart.
And Christ, when we come with a repentant heart, he imputes his righteousness into our accounts in heaven, so that our record in heaven is now covered with his life. This is called the imputed righteousness of Christ. Then he declares us to the universe as righteous, his beloved son or daughter, in whom he is well pleased. And then he imparts the righteousness of Christ, which is the power, the Holy Spirit, to keep us from sinning.
So the imputed righteousness covers our past sins, and the imparted righteousness is for the present and future to keep us from sinning. And also, there's always that, you know, the beautiful verse from John, which says, my little children, I write these things unto you that you sinned not. But if any man sinned, we haven't had to get with the Father. And he continues to say that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us, our sins that declines us from all unrighteousness.
So that if we're living in the power of the imparted righteousness of Christ, then we sin, we don't have to despair, we don't have to fall apart and say, oh, what am I going to do? We simply go to our knees and confess our sins from a humble heart, repent. And then we receive God's grace. Now, you may be thinking, ah, that's a form of works repentance is coming before forgiveness.
Well, it's not. And I'll explain that as I go. But one of the things I want to talk to you about that is that really hit home for me is the fact that repentance is a gift. It's not a work that I do.
It's a gift and experience that comes from God. That is grace. He works upon my heart and leads me to repentance. And then when I repent, that prepares the heart to receive the gift of forgiveness.
This is why Spirit of Prophecy says, it's not possible to receive forgiveness without repentance. Then she goes on to say in another place that this repentance is not of ourselves. It comes from Christ. Now I'm going to read this from desire pages page 175 paragraph five to go along with this.
The light shining from the cross reveals the love of God. His love is drawing us to himself. If we do not resist this drawing, we shall be led to the foot of the cross in repentance. Why?
For the sins that have crucified the Savior. Then the Spirit of God through faith produces a new life in the soul. The thoughts and desires are brought into obedience to the will of Christ. The heart, the mind, are created anew in the image of Him who works in us to subdue all things to himself.
Then the law of God is written in the mind and heart. And we can say with Christ, I delight to do Thy will. Oh my God, that's Psalm 40 verse 8. And so by seeing this we see the process is what I'm getting.
The process happens. And there's another statement I want to read here. Let's see where is it? All right.
Okay. Well, I'll just read this one here. It's the sire of ages chapter 60. I don't have the page.
No repentance is genuine. That does not work. Reformation, the righteousness of Christ is not a cloak to cover, unconvest and unversaken sin. It is a principle of light that transforms the character and controls the conduct.
Holiness is wholeness for God. It is the entire surrender of a heart and life to the indwelling of the principles of heaven. All right. So what we have here is a process of repentance that the Holy Spirit initiates on our hearts and works in us to bring us to bring us to the place where our hearts are ready to receive power so that we can live a new life.
Now, I want to ask you a question. Having said these things here about the imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ, they are a reality. They are teaching in our church. And so just considering how you may believe salvation comes through the objective gospel, which means essentially that everybody was in Christ.
And when Christ died, everybody died and when Christ was resurrected, everybody was resurrected and so forth, you know it. I don't have to teach you. So the question that comes to my mind is then we have this teaching in the Seventh-day Adventist Church that talks about the imputed righteousness of Christ. At what point does the imputed righteousness of Christ come to an individual if he is in this so-called objective gospel where he's already forgiven?
Has he received the imputed righteousness at that point? Well, you can't say yes, because that only comes to a person who has really accepted Christ. So if you say no, then where does I leave the person who is in this so-called objective gospel? It means that he's lost.
There's no other way to look at it. There is no third option here. He is either receiving the imputed righteousness of Christ, which means he has come to Christ through repentance by the work of grace on the heart, or he has not received it. And at that point he is, as the book of Romans says in verse chapter 8, if I can get to it here real quickly, I want to read it, Romans 8 and verse 9, I believe it is, and it says, but you are not in flesh, but in the Spirit.
If so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not of his. All right. And then he continues on, let's just read verse 10, and if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
So if you receive the imputed righteousness and part of righteousness, there's no division between imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ. It comes one after the other. There's not one day that you all you receive is the imputed righteousness of Christ. That's not how it works.
Christ does not divide his plan of salvation. Once you receive the imputed righteousness of Christ, the imparted righteousness of Christ comes. We were just reading about that when we come in repentance, we receive pardon and strength, a new heart. So it all comes as one.
So if Christ is in us and has that Spirit, then we have received this gift. But if the Spirit is not in us, then we are none of his. And as we read in the opening statements that we are the way that we are born, we are enemies of God. We are not in harmony with him.
And we are in league with Satan. So I'm going to continue on now, but I'm going to shift gears. I just wanted to lay that foundation concerning how we're born and the imputed and part of the righteousness of Christ. And to throw that question out about the objective gospel as pertains to the imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ.
Now I'm going to go through something really amazing. And I have never heard or read, I should say, anybody online teach this. But I'm going to ask you to go to your Bibles and look at follow along in Romans 6. All right.
Now Romans, chapter 6 is answering the question from or rather asking a question that results from what took place in chapter 5. And I'm going to go to chapter 5 afterwards. And so let's just go through this. Romans, chapter 6 verse 1, what shall we say then?
Shall we continue in that grace may abound? God forbid, how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer there in? Making a very profound statement here. How can we who are not will be we are dead in sin.
In other words, the controlling power of sin does not reign over us. And then he gives the reason why. No, ye not that so many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus Christ were baptized into his death. So here we see a mention of being baptized into or in Jesus Christ, we're baptized into his death.
Therefore, verse 4, we are buried within by baptism into death. That like us Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in the newness of life. For if we have been planted together, baptized in the likeness of his death, also referring to death to self, we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this that our old man that would be the equivalent to the flesh, right? The old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed or another way of saying destroyed is rendered inoperative, no longer has power over us.
And it continues on that henceforth we should not serve sin, for he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we will now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him, knowing that Christ being raised from the dead died no more death has no more of dominion over him same way with sin over us. For in that he died, he died once into sin, but in that he lived, he lived unto God, likewise, reckon ye yourselves or have faith to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord, how through what he means through, through what he explained in the previous chapters, specifically in chapters three, speaking of how we receive justification three and four chapters three and four. And that is, if we take a moment and look back at what happened in the Old Testament, when somebody sinned they would bring an offering, would sacrifice the offering that sin was transferred from the man to the animal to the blood to the priest into the sanctuary or yeah, in the sanctuary.
But it was disposed of essentially what I'm saying is sin was transferred. And so we must understand whenever you see the word blood in the New Testament, speaking of redemption or forgiveness by his blood, it is referring not to his death only, but is referring to the process that took place in the old covenant, which is now taking place in the new covenant in heaven. There is a statement that Ellen White makes where she says that, you see, if I can find it real quick, every time somebody sins that Christ momentarily offers up his blood as an offering. And let's see, if I can find it really quickly here, I don't want to spend too much time looking for this, because I want to go through chapter six, because when you see this, you're going to be blessed momentarily.
Let's see if we can find it. Okay, here we go. This is from first selected messages, and it's page 343 paragraph four. As you near the cross of Calvary, there is seen love that is without parallel.
As you grasp by faith, as you by faith grasp the meaning of the sacrifice, you see yourself as sinner, condemned by a broken law. Is that bad news? No, that's good news, that's what we want. That's where we have our hearts prepared to receive Christ, and we don't end up weeping and begging and crying and crying and saying, oh, please help me what I'll never do again.
We need to understand that we're condemned to death and we need help. And as she continues, this is repentance. As you come with the humble heart, you find pardon for Christ Jesus is represented as continually standing at the altar, momentarily offering up the sacrifice for the sins of the world. He is the minister of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched and not man.
I think it's a paragraph before that where she talks about momentarily offering up his blood, but you can read that for yourself. I'm not going to take time to go through that, but I do want to continue on in the Romans 6. So we need to understand that whenever talks about blood, it's not just talking about the fact that he died on the cross, but the process that happened or took place in the old covenant now takes place in the new covenant. That's made evident when you look at the book of Hebrews.
It's clear in there. So he continues on to say verse 12, let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lust thereof. Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteous and sent to sin, but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead. We're raised up out of water with a newness of life.
We receive the imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ, and it continues on, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace. Very interesting comment. Many people will get confused with that and think that, see, there's no need to keep the law of God.
We don't have to keep the commandments. We don't have to keep sabbas, and in our case, there's different interpretation of that. But what Paul is saying here is that, since you are now a new creature, you don't have to use the law in order to justify yourself. In other words, you're not wanting to live as a Pharisees or as we call them today, legalists.
That's not how we live. We live not under the law, but under grace. Now, it also applies to the fact that we're not under condemnation, but I think it's more applicable to what he's saying to understand that we are not using the law to become righteous. Rather, we are under grace, and that's what makes us grace.
And then he asks the question, what then shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace. In other words, we're not using the law for righteousness to get our righteousness. God forbid. No, you not.
That to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey his servants, you are to whom you obey, whether of sin unto death or of obedience or to righteousness. But God be thanks that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart. Remember that. That form of doctrine which was delivered unto you.
Being made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. Does that mean now they're sinless? No. It means that they are free from the power of sin.
And as we continue on, you're going to see that. You probably already know that. I'm no doubt, but just want to bring that out. All right.
I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh, for as ye have yielded your members, servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, and to iniquity, even so now yield your members, servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when you were servants of sin, that was before you were baptized, before you died in Christ, you were free from righteousness. Not a spot of righteousness was in us. In any way, any form whatsoever, all we had was death.
Verse 21, what fruit had you then in those things where have you now shamed for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, you have your fruit unto holiness and the everlasting life and the end everlasting life. And the famous statement that we know for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternalized through our Lord Jesus Christ. Now I read all of that went through this whole chapter just to come to this point here.
And then I'm going to come to another point. Romans 7, listen carefully, this is amazing. No ye not brethren, for I speak to them that know the law. So we consider that Jews, he's speaking to the Jews, they knew the law.
They could be. It could be anybody who knew the law, but that's not really important. But he's saying here, he continues on how that the law have dominion over a man as long as he live is. All right, so we can say that pretty much that's just a fact, a principle of life that when you're alive, you're under some form of law that you have to obey.
Right. Now he's going to get specific for the woman which happened husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he live us. But if the husband be dead, she is loose from the law of her husband. All right, so now that's pretty straightforward, not a problem.
Now he explains a little more detail. So then if while her husband live is she be married to another man she shall be called an adulterous. But if her husband be dead, she is free from that law so that she is no adulterous though she be married to another man. Here's what he's getting to verse four, where for my brethren, ye are you also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ that you should be married to another, even him who is raised from the dead that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
The question is, who is it that we were married to before that? You have to look at this very carefully. He says you're dead to the law, but he's not saying that you're not you're no longer married to the law. He's saying that that law no longer has dominion over you, no longer has jurisdiction over you because you have died when you were baptized into Christ.
The old man died. The old sinful nature no longer has power over us. So that nature is dead. The flesh is what he's saying here.
The flesh is now dead and we are married to Christ. And isn't that the case? When you come to Christ with your full heart and love with the Lord, you don't want to listen to the flesh. You have no desire to follow the temptations of Satan or the flesh that he uses to get to us.
You want to do what Christ will is because you are one with him. Remember what it says in 1 Corinthians 6 17 it says, but he that has joined to Christ is one spirit. I may not have the words exact, but I think that's what it says. We are one spirit, very important to remember.
Christ came here in the human flesh to join us to his spirit that we may all be one as he is one with the Father and we may be one with another. We may all have that one spirit, that spirit which Adam lost in the garden when he sinned. Christ came to give back to man that we may be all one. Now this is very important and really crucial to understand this point because now you get a clear understanding that when Christ came here, he came here to die for men and women that they may receive the spirit.
The spirit is what makes us one. The spirit is what makes us in Christ. That's the only way to be in Christ is through the spirit. We die, raised up again and are in Christ by the spirit.
It was different for Adam. Adam was earthy as it says in 1 Corinthians. So we came from him physically where his descendants. Christ came that way too.
But when Christ came here, he came as a spirit as well, being filled with the Holy Spirit is what I should say, to join us together, not by the flesh, not the fact that we are all one flesh. He had to have flesh in order to die for our sins, but in order to be one spirit, we need to go through the process of grace, which is the Holy Spirit working on the heart, leading us to repentance. We experience that deep experience of repentance. And then we make a confession and then we receive pardon and then we receive this new heart.
We receive a spirit and then we become one with Christ. I may talk more about that a little later on. But anyway, I want to get on with this point here because this is beautiful. Wherefore my brethren, you also become dead to the law, verse 4, by the body of Christ that you should be married to another, even to him that is raised from the dead.
We should bring forth fruit unto God. For when we were in the flesh, when we were married to the flesh, the motions of sins which were by the law or pointed out by the law, and then we also receive condemnation, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now that we are delivered from the law, what do we mean we're delivered from the law? That being dead wherein we were held, that we should not serve in the newness of spirit, that we should serve in the newness of spirit and not in the oldest of the letter.
So essentially what he is saying here is that we're married to Christ. So I'm delivered from being held to the flesh under that law. I'm no longer under that law saying that I'm married to the flesh and I have to live in the flesh. And if I try to be married to Christ and I don't die, that's spiritual adultery.
Now I'm trying to live with my flesh and be married to Christ and I'm not one spirit with him. And now he's going to in a very short while describe what that process is all about. Continuing on, what shall we say then is the law sin? God forbid, may I have not known sin but by the law.
For I had not known lust except the law had said thou shall not covet. But sin taking occasion by the commandment wrought in me all manner of compcubicence or greed. For without the law sin was dead. In other words, I was living thinking that I wasn't under the law.
I was keeping the law so there's no sin in me is what he's saying. Then it continues on, for I was alive once without the law. But when the commandment came, what commandment? Well, the one he was just talking about, right?
Thou shall not covet. When the commandment came sin revived and I died. At some point in his life, we kind of know when this commandment was made very prominent in his mind. And they continue on the commandment which was ordained to life I found to be unto death.
For sin taking occasion by the commandment deceived me and by its loomie, wherefore the law is holy and the commandment holy and Justin good was then that which is good made death unto me God forbid but sin that it might appear sin working death in me by that which is good that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Why would we want that? Essentially what that's saying is that that you might be condemned. All right condemnation is not a good thing.
We don't want to be walking around thinking that God condemns me. But if we live in sin, that's exactly what we have. So the commandment now that it came to life to him made his sin exceeding sinful and just broke his heart and he repented deeply of the things that he did and then received the Holy Spirit and became a new man. Continuing on now he's going to explain for we know that the law is spiritual.
Well of course it is because we're married to Christ one spirit. We're not living by the flesh but I am carnal or living in flesh or fleshy. So I'll understand for that which I do I allow not now there's a translation on the word allow it means I don't understand. I don't know.
For what I would or what I want to do that do I not but what I hate that I do. Now what's he explaining here? What are you talking about? He's talking about a converted person that is walking in the spirit?
No he's describing the condition of being sold under sin being married to the flesh and he's we're going to flush that out in a minute and you'll see it. If then I do that which I would not I can send unto the law that is good. In other words if I'm agreeing with the law that what I'm doing is not right then the law is good. If I sense myself doing something I don't want to do then the law says that sin then I'm agreeing with the law.
So the law's not bad. Something else is something's wrong. He explains. Now then it is no more I that do it but sin that dwells in me.
For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwells no good thing. For to will is present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not right. So the flesh is describing that condition of being married to the flesh being at one with the flesh. I want to do what's good but I just can't do it.
I weep and I cry and I beg God for help. I still fail. I still sin. I still am under condemnation.
So what is my only hope? Well somebody might come along and say hey guess what I have a gospel for you that tells you that you're not in a condemnation. You already been forgiven you just have to accept it. Right there in them if that person believes that he is robbed of the opportunity to see his condition and how desperately he needs to repent in order to receive Christ.
He is robbed of that because he may say really I am and he's going to abandon the process of repentance and accept this gospel. I don't want to call it a gospel honestly because it's damaging to the process of grace. Let me continue on. For the good that I would, the good that I want to do I do not but the evil which I would not that I do.
Now if I do that I would not it is no more eye that do it but sin that dwell within me. I find then a law that when I would do good evil is present with me. For I delight in the law God after the inward man but I see another law on my members warring against the law of my mind and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Now he makes that cry that we all have gone through or wretched man that I am who shall deliver me from the body of this death.
If you live carnally you will die. If you live after the flesh you will die. He has just described a life being at one with the flesh. Now he gives the answer and it's going to continue on in chapter eight beautiful thoughts.
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord so then with my mind or the spirit I myself serve the law of God but with the flesh the law of sin. So now you see that he has made a choice that he himself serves the law of God but there's always a flesh there but he's not going to serve it because now he's married to Christ. And here we go chapter eight verse one there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who have been baptized into Christ who walk not after the flesh they are no longer at one with the flesh but rather after the spirit they walk after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh. I was married to the flesh and I was trying to keep the law. I couldn't do it because I was not married to the spirit. I had no spirit in me I only had flesh.
I couldn't do it. God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh. How could he do it because he was born full of the Holy Spirit. He was born as Adam was created.
Adam was created with the Holy Spirit. Lost it. We are all of us are born in the same situation except for when Christ came. That's how Christ is the second Adam because of the Holy Spirit being within him.
And now all who join unto Christ through baptism received well I mean not only baptism we need more than that baptism and receiving the imputed and imparted righteousness of Christ and from the heart we confess we accept we receive we get the seal of the Holy Spirit and now we no longer walk after the flesh others no condemnation to us. We don't sense this we have a peace with God and we live a life that is a life of righteousness. We choose to do what's good what's right because the Spirit of God has given us power the new mind. Verse four that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh. How could they not that's all that they know just like when we were in the past we were in the flesh all we could do was those things of the flesh continue on but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit for to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace this is newness of life this is peace this is justification of life it only comes that way it doesn't come to everybody there's another justification of life that comes that maybe I'll get into a little later on I just want to stay on this topic right now because the carnal mind is enmity against God for it is not subject to the law of God neither indeed can be so then they that are in the flesh cannot please God but you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if the if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you now if the Spirit of now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ he is none of his and now he's going to tell us how you know that you have Christ in you and if Christ be in you the body is dead because of sin but the Spirit is life because of righteousness in other words if Christ is in you you're not living a life of sin the body is dead the body has died through baptism and through imputed and imparted righteousness and now we're living at one with Christ being one Spirit this is just so beautiful especially when you go back to Romans 6 you know telling us that we are we are one and our life is a life of faith our life is a life that we must deny the clamoring of the flesh the temptations of Satan and we are to live at one with Christ in the Spirit and I want to share here we go this is from Manuscript 46 1891 it says the faith that justifies always produces always first produces true repentance and then good works which are the fruit of that faith there is no saving faith that does not produce good fruit makes sense God gave Christ to our world to become the sinners substitute now listen to this carefully the moment true faith in the merits of the costly atoning sacrifice is exercised claiming Christ as a personal Savior that moment the sinner is justified before God because he is pardoned manuscript 46 1891 there is no pardon prior to that there's no objective pardon it can't be why can't it be well we talked about before the imputed and imparted righteousness if there's there's just no way that that can work together the other thing is that we have to take into consideration what about man and his probation when then sinned he received a probation and now he had the privilege of accepting Christ and being loyal to God again and that would give him eternal life my biggest concern with the teaching of jacks Aquara is the fact that it will take away that deep repentance that we experience because it tells you something that isn't true it tells you that you've already been forgiven in Christ there is no such representation in the sanctuary none whatsoever and there is no representation of that in the spirit prophecy it's I don't find it in writings of Jones Wagner and there's just so much to gain or should I say to lose from believing that that theory I'm going to read another one here use instructor January 16 1896 as you confess your sins as you repent of your iniquity Christ takes your guilt upon himself when at the cross no it's not what she says as you confess your sins as you repent of your iniquity Christ takes your guilt upon himself and imputes to you his own righteousness and power this is the same thing that we're talking about in Romans chapter 6 7 and 8 where we become one with Christ through baptism and through this process and now we are one with Christ one spirit no longer living after the flesh the flesh profits nothing therefore when Christ came in the flesh just because he came in the flesh that doesn't mean all humanity was in him that's not the purpose of the gospel he took flesh so that he could save us but the way that he saves us is in his own way not man's way to those continue on to those who are contrite in spirit he gives the golden oil of love and the rich treasures of his grace it is then that you may see that the sacrifice of God through the merits of Christ makes you of infinite value for clothed in the robe of Christ's righteousness you become the sons and daughters of God those who approach the Father recognizing the both promise and ask forgiveness in the name of Jesus will receive their request at their very first expression expression of penitence Christ presents the humble suppleants petition before the throne as his own desire in the sinner's behalf he says I will pray the Father for you that is beautiful that is beautiful and there's some other statements that I want to read here that I can't think of just right now but in in these in this short study that I'm doing here I think you get the point of where I'm going I could I guess I've got plenty more statements and I think I will probably just close up right now and I hope that I've said something that has made you think and if not that's that's okay you know I mean it's your mind it's your life you you choose what you will but I hope that you understand and do some more searching please read first selected messages chapters 49 to the end of the book that's chapter 65 you are going to see some beautiful truths in there now so much so that it's going to it's going to change your life it's going to give you a new understanding it's like this and I've shared this with people before when you receive Christ again in your life when I say again I mean that Adam lost Christ Adam lost a holy spirit when Adam was in the Garden of being with Eve they were permitted to look at all God's creatures and they had a robe of light on them and as they would look at the different creation created flowers and birds and whatever that light that was on them came from the presence of God being in them and that illuminated everything and they could see more details and more had more insight into the love of God that they never had before but well she means I shouldn't say that that they were created with that I guess I think you know what I'm saying they had this light so and you'll see why I said that that they had before in a second but when we received our righteousness of Christ we received that holy spirit back within us we receive Christ we are one spirit with him and so when we look at the created works of God we have that light within us again and we see although they're sin in the world we can see his marvelous hand he works and when we read his work his word I should say we see things that we have never seen before because there's a light of God is coming through from us by the Holy Spirit that illuminates the Word of God and gives us an understanding that we've never had before this is so beautiful and it is a gift of God that just there are no words to to express how beautiful this is I'm going to end and I'm going to read Romans chapter 10 we're familiar with it not whole chapter but just a few verses from it all right brethren my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved for I bear them record that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge for they being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believe us right so now they don't he's saying look you don't have to try to keep the law to become righteous when you believe righteousness is imputed and imparted for Moses described as the righteousness which is of the law that is the man which that the man which do is those things shall live by them but the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise say not in nine heart who saw us in into heaven that is to bring Christ down from above or who shall descend into the deep that is to bring Christ up again from the dead what what is he saying here he's saying wow when Jesus returns what a joy that's going to be what kind of faith is that gonna I mean it's like it's the culmination of faith everything that we wanted and hoping for is now happening but he's saying essentially that the righteousness which is a faith you don't need that type of experience and then for seven or who shall descend into the deep that is to bring up Christ again from the dead well what joy that they had when they saw that Christ was resurrected their faith was bam man just took off a whole world was not fire because of their faith but he's saying no that's not that's not the type of faith you know that that you need you don't need to have Christ right in front of you but he continues on what say is it the word is neither even in my mouth and in my heart that is the word of faith which we preach that if thou shalt confess with thum nine mouths the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved were with the heart man believe his unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation two things that are absolutely necessary and if you look through the spear prophecy in the Bible you'll see them all over the place repentance and faith repentance for the breaking of God's commandments and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and as Paul said wherever he went he preached that he made sure that everybody understood and here it is Acts 20 starting at verse 20 and how I kept back nothing that was profitable into you but I have showed you and have taught you publicly from house to house testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks repentance toward God and face toward our Lord Jesus Christ this is brought out in all of his teachings everywhere that you look you see that because that is the gospel again it's not a human repentance because we can't we can't repent of ourselves there is no way in the world that we can repent our hearts are too selfish I want to share more but I think I'm just going to stop right there maybe I'll do another podcast I'm not sure but thank you I hope that you got something from this take care God bless you and hope to see you again another time
