But the people who knew Him best did not respond with faith. They were familiar with His family, His work, and His background, yet they missed who He truly was.This message challenges us to ask a serious question: Are we following Jesus, or are we simply close to the things of Jesus? It is possible to attend church, hear Scripture, know the language, and still miss the King standing right in front of us.Jesus is not merely a teacher, a religious figure, or someone familiar from Bible stories. He is the promised King and Savior who died and rose again so sinners could be forgiven and receive eternal life.After being rejected in His hometown, Jesus sends out the twelve disciples with a message and with authority. They are not sent with impressive resources or perfect confidence. They are sent with dependence on God, the gospel message, and the power of the Holy Spirit.The same calling remains for followers of Jesus today.
