The GP Who Survived Cancer & Now Prescribes Food as Medicine with Dr Michaela Sorensen
from Life With Danni Duncan · host Danni Duncan
Dr Michaela Sorensen is a GP, a Jodi Lee Foundation ambassador, and a cancer survivor. She's been on both sides of a diagnosis and it changed everything about how she practises medicine. At 34, with a two-month-old baby at home, a routine dentist appointment revealed a rare stage four cancer on the roof of her mouth. A month in hospital, four 12-hour surgeries, and an NG tube later, she came out the other side with a completely different perspective on health. In this episode we talked about food as medicine, preventative health, the longevity secrets hiding in blue zones, and why women especially are terrible at advocating for themselves even when they know something is wrong. If you want to learn more about the power of food as medicine and take your health more seriously, this episode is for you.
