The GQP used Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation hearings to normalize the influence of religion on government

from Literally The Worst People in the World. · host Dermot Fenster

Lindsey Graham and Marjorie Taylor Green shoved a nauseating amount of discussion of the particulars of Christianity into judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's Supreme Court confirmation hearings for two reasons. They didn't think that they would be able to directly violate the first amendment by denying her the seat based on her religious beliefs, but they decided to give it a try. But what they were primarily trying to do was normalize religious influence on government processes and appointments.  Well, mainly Lindsey Graham was trying to do that.  All Marjorie Taylor Greene knew was that her handlers told her to go on a rant about Adam's Rib and it would trigger the libs. She doesn't have two brain cells to rub together, so there would have been no point in trying to explain the nuances the plan to her.
