The Granny Killer: The Four Week Flight of Lois Riess

Lois Riess, a 56-year-old grandmother from Minnesota driven by a severe gambling addiction, murdered her husband, David, after stealing significant funds from his business and her sister's bank account. She then fled to Florida and killed Pamela Hutchinson, a woman who resembled her, in order to steal her identity and continue her flight across several states using the victim's money. Riess’s month-long journey ended with her capture in Texas, and she was eventually sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to avoid the death penalty.
