The Great ADVENTure: JOY Sermon Date 12/22/2019
from The Lighthouse of Faith and Worship · host Tracy Beyer
You know when I was a boy, I attended Martin Luther School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was a Lutheran Parochial School. One of the things we studied was scripture memory and we studied bible stories. One of the stories that always stuck in my head was when the woman stuck that guy through the temple with the tent peg. Of course, that story is told in Judges 4:21. About that time in my life, I learned something profound, though I would not realize it until sometime later. I learned something from Mr. Wagner that I will be forever in his debt. He taught me something about Joy that no other person ever had. He told me that if I could learn to put God first, and then other people, and finally tend to my own life, I could attain JOY. Jesus, Others, Yourself. Seems simple, I promise you, it took me much longer to grasp it. I hope you learn it faster than I did.
