The Great Reversals of Good Friday
from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp
Soldiers dress Jesus as a pretend king, unaware that their mockery speaks the truth. His apparent weakness becomes the power of the cross. By refusing to save Himself, Jesus saves His people from sin; through His death and resurrection, He restores them to God. His cry fulfils Psalm 22, and the torn temple curtain means God's presence can be with people again. Jesus offers forgiveness, freedom and restored life with God, inviting people to receive Him as Lord. Bible Reference: Matthew 27:27–54 Preacher: KJ Tromp
