The Greatest Midterm Show on Earth Hits Dallas

Joey Hudson, filling in for Mike, takes a look at the Republican Party’s unprecedented midterm convention in Dallas, where the goal is simple: turn the Trump-era enthusiasm into votes in November. With Donald Trump positioned as the party’s “greatest showman,” Joey examines how Republicans are hoping to put Trump’s name, policies and record at the center of the midterm fight. But there’s another side to the Dallas gathering: eye-popping fundraising prices, including $250,000 for a roundtable with the president and $35,000 for a photo with Vice President J.D. Vance. Joey also questions whether a convention this expensive can really energize ordinary voters—and whether the major networks’ limited coverage could leave much of America unaware that the “greatest midterm show on Earth” is even happening.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
