The root of the word Zubatá is zub, which means tooth. Zubatá, could be loosely translated as ‘Ol’ Toothy’ or the ‘Grim Toother’, referring to the Grim Reaper and his unflinching skeletal grin. One difference is that in Czech, Death is female.
