The Gruesome Case of Butch Bowyer

In February 2002, Forrest "Butch" Bowyer's life was shattered in a nightmare of unimaginable violence. Two men posing as narcotics officers invaded his Alabama home, robbing him and abducting both him and his 12-year-old son, Brett. Driven to a remote construction site, his throat was slit from ear to ear, and his son was shot three times in the head. Buried alive in a shallow grave, Bowyer miraculously clawed his way to the surface, walked a quarter of a mile to the highway, and flagged down help, only to lead police back to his son's body.
