She dealt with bullying at school that would eventually escalate into one the most heinous murders in the state.In January 1992, four girls between the ages of 15-17 decided "to teach Shanda a lesson." One of the girls, Melinda Loveless, was jealous of Shanda's new relationship.The girls went to Shanda’s home late at night and convinced her to leave with them. Over the next several hours, they would torture, sexually assault and beat Shanda to the brink of death before setting her on fire with gasoline.
