The Guardians of the Sea | Dr. Elisa Dierickx Maio Biodiversity Foundation Cape Verde

Marine ecosystems are threatened worldwide by climate change, overfishing, and extreme degradation. Cape Verde, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean off the West African coasts, still is one of the last strongholds of biodiversity in our oceans. But increasingly under threats. And there, the Maio Biodiversity Foundation is at the forefront of the restoration and conservation of this vulnerable ecosystem. We speak with  Dr. Elisa Dierickx a changemaker and leader in the conservation field. She studied biology at Harvard and holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Cambridge and her MBA from INSEAD. She received the prestigious Alumni Change Maker Award from the Financial Times for her work at the Fundação Maio Biodiversidade (Maio Biodiversity Foundation)
