The Hardship of Joseph's Christmas

Joseph faces heartbreak when Mary is found pregnant before their marriage, and quietly plans to end their binding engagement. An angel tells him that Mary's child comes from the Holy Spirit and will save His people from their sins. Joseph trusts God's word and obeys, despite fear and the possible cost to his reputation. His hardship is not wasted. By naming the child Jesus, this righteous man acknowledges the deepest promise of Christmas: even the best people need the Saviour.
