She received her doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego and is best known for her work with children in high-conflict divorce situations. Dr. Stark is the author of seven books for children. These books include a three-book Whole Heart series about self- esteem helping children feel good about themselves includes the popular titles, Whole Heart for Girls, Whole Heart for Young Women, and Whole Heart for Boys. She facilitates Whole Heart for Girls self-esteem workshops for Girl Scouts of Orange County and other groups. Many years ago, Amy appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss her business book, Because I Said So, about how office life can represent the characteristics of a dysfunctional family.
