Some of Jesus's teachings from The Sermon on the Mount are challenging like “Love your enemy and bless those who persecute you.” Some are just plain weird like “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off!”Underneath it all is the message that God cares more about the disposition of our hearts than whether we "follow the rules".
