The Heart of the Matter - Part 39 - Ezekiel

from Messianic Torah Observant Israel · host Steve Berkson

Rabbi Steve Berkson concludes the book of the Prophet Ezekiel in part 39 of The Heart of the Matter series. In chapter 20 we see YHWH continuing the chastise the leaders of Judea for allowing their hearts to turn to idolatry. YHWH reminds them that He is theirElohim and that they need no other. He gave them His Torah so that they would live and not die, but the disobedience continued. As YHWH sees it, disobedience is equal to rebellion which is equal to idolatry. Rabbi Berkson explains verse 25, which by some hasbeen misunderstood, that says, “And I also gave them up to laws that were not good, and right-rulings by which they would not live.” Chapter 36 is full of wonderful promises of finally entering the Age to Come as YHWH will gather Israel, replace our stony heartswith hearts of flesh and sprinkle clean water on us. We also learn that we will be judged according to our deeds (works). We will learn that we can choose to jump out of His hand and no longer be under His protection. In chapter 44, the vision Ezekiel was givenfor the coming temple, YHWH declares that no foreigner that is not circumcised in heart and body will be allowed in that temple. Rabbi Berkson also teaches about how the Levitical Priesthood has not been eliminated but will once again do service in the temple to come.Don't miss out on new teachings every week.
