The Hero's Journey as Initiation into Mastery: 7 Year Remission Rebirthday Reflections | Ep 10

The Hero's Journey is the journey of transformation that is coming to Know Thyself. On my 7 year Remission Anniversary – what I refer to as my 'Rebirthday' – I was reflecting on the number 7 and all that it signifies, as well as the Hero's Journey of Transformation itself as an Initiation into self-actualization. It struck me that it takes 7 years for all the cells in the body to regenerate – we quite literally have a whole new body after 7 years. Amongst a slew of other profound manners in which this number is reflected in our world, 7 represents the number of primary chakras in the body, the primary notes in an octave before the next begins, and as is reflected in many post-doctorate degrees, the number of years it takes to become fully embodied in our mastery. In the words of Joseph Campbell: "We must be willing to get rid of the life we planned so as to be ready for the life that is waiting for us." The sooner we begin the journey, the more fully anchored we become in our brilliance.
