She served as a Senior Scientist with the IPCC Technical Support Unit from 2017-2023, contributing to the ‘Global Warming of 1.5°C’ and ‘Climate Change and Land’ reports, and co-editing the Sixth Assessment Report and the 2023 Synthesis Report. She also contributed to the UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2023. Dr. Minal leads the South Asia Hub of the Urban Climate Change Research Network in collaboration with Columbia University’s Earth Institute. Her research focuses on climate change mitigation in urban areas, transport, and buildings, with an emphasis on co-benefits and development. She is an Associate Editor for Climate and Development journal.
