The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) — "Boring is always best."
from The Kulturecast Hosted by Weirding Way Media
Is it an action comedy or a love story between Deadpool and Nick Fury? Chris tries to decide as he takes on The Hitman's Bodyguard. Directed by Patrick Hughes, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as an elite bodyguard tasked with protecting Samuel L. Jackson's psychotic hitman, whose testimony is needed to prosecute Gary Oldman's ruthless dictator. It's a buddy comedy that hits some of the right notes but misses the mark on others. We get into the Reynolds and Jackson pairing, the action, and where it all falls short. Crimson Son author Russ Linton joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, buddy comedies, and so much more.
