THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch | Peter Jackson

Brandon & Michael react to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), the first chapter in the epic fantasy prequel to The Lord of the Rings, following Bilbo Baggins as he’s swept into an adventure with Gandalf and a company of dwarves on a quest to reclaim their homeland from the dragon Smaug. As Bilbo leaves the safety of the Shire, the journey unfolds into encounters with trolls, goblins, and the mysterious Gollum, setting the stage for a much larger quest. This reaction stands out for its mix of world-building, character introductions, and classic fantasy adventure, as Brandon & Michael experience the film’s humor, tension, and iconic moments in real time. Directed by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, The Lovely Bones, They Shall Not Grow Old, Heavenly Creatures), the film stars Martin Freeman (Sherlock, The Office UK, Black Panther, Fargo, Love Actually), Ian McKellen (The Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Gods and Monsters, Mr. Holmes, Beauty and the Beast), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy, North & South, Hannibal, Castlevania, Ocean’s 8), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, Black Panther, Star Wars, Venom: Let There Be Carnage), and Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok, Carol, Blue Jasmine, Ocean’s 8, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), bringing together a cast tied to major fantasy franchises, blockbuster films, and iconic performances that continue to drive strong reaction and crossover audience appeal. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch!
