The Holy Spirit and the Christian Life: Darrell Johnson

This week we’re so excited to introduce to you Darrell Johnson! He’s been preaching Jesus and His gospel for over 50 years. He has served a number of Presbyterian congregations in California, in the Philippines, and the Historic Baptist Church in the heart of Vancouver. He has taught preaching at Fuller Theological Seminary, Regent College, and Carey Theological College. He is now serving as Scholar in Residence at the Way Church in Vancouver and serves leaders to the Canadian Church Leaders Network. He and his wife Sharon have been married for over 50 years and have raised 4 children adopted from 4 different countries of the world and are now enjoying 11 grandchildren as well.In this episode, Chris will mine Darrell’s wisdom, his insight, and his pastoral heart as they talk about theology, church, spiritual formation, Christmas, covid, and culture. Darrell will explore the misconception that we can live our Christian life on our own. The Christian life is impossible to live without the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ earthly ministry is Spirit-dependent, Spirit-filled, and Spirit-driven, and this is the major implication for Spiritual Formation. We forget and we try to do this on our own and we cannot.
