The most effective weapon we have to keep us from falling prey to the evil in the world and the temptations fired at us by Satan is the Word of God. Even Jesus, when He was tempted in the desert for forty days, used Scripture as His weapon (Matthew 4:1-11). The Bible itself reminds us numerous times to study the Scriptures. In Ephesians 6:11, we're told to “put on the full armor of God” in order to protect ourselves from “the devil's schemes”; and this armor includes the Word of God, the Bible. If we're fully protected each day from the evil of the world and the schemes of the enemy, we'll have the fullness of joy.
