The Horror of a "Different Truth"

People can hear grace, then quietly add their own goodness, effort, or family background to it. Paul warns the Galatian churches that this does not improve the gospel; it reverses it and deserts the God who called them. Human beings cannot rescue themselves. Jesus gave Himself for sins, completing what helpless sinners could never do, so salvation rests on His work rather than anyone's faith or performance.
