Neville first came to the remote Irish island in the 1970s and made a documentary about the islanders' traditional way of life, their culture and language. Neville felt warmly welcomed – now, he faces a wall of silence. Some talk mysteriously of a whirlwind and a strange glow in the night sky, others say Neville would be better off not asking.
