The Howling (1981)

"Imagine your worst fear a reality." Tonight, we're talking about Joe Dante's 1981 werewolf classic, The Howling! Dee Wallace stars as an LA newslady who gets in too deep with a serial killer who turns out to be in touch with his... animalistic side. She's then sent to a self-help retreat by a quack who's a New Age Jim Jones type, where she finds out the terrifying truth behind Eddie The Mangler's bloody trail of bodies. Joe Dante directs from a John Sayles screenplay that's got as much biting humor and in-jokes as it does Horror and suspense. Also featuring some stellar and groundbreaking special effects from Rob Bottin, The Howling can easily stand paw to paw with An American Werewolf In London as the greatest werewolf movie of 1981!
