The Humble Servant

Part 5 of "Becoming Like The Teacher" We all want to be great at something. We want promotion at work. We want success in school and business. We want to be recognized and appreciated by our friends, family and co-workers. It's not wrong to have those feelings because God has placed in our hearts the desire to be great. Today, Jesus wants to let us know that the measurement of true greatness is by service and not status. A man of God once said, "God determines your greatness by how many people you serve, not how many people serve you." So if you love the Lord & work faithfully to honor Him with your life, promotion is on the way! Be willing to do more for others and do not look at your position. Focus on serving others with all of your heart & you can be assured of the great reward that comes through following God. [ "Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted." Matthew 23:12 ] [ He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, "Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else." Mark 9:35 ]
