The Humility of Giving Up - Audio

from Chiangmai Christian Fellowship · host Tim Dunham

Who can be saved? If God alone is good, and we cannot let go of the idols that grip our heart and hold us captive in their power; If we are all, at heart, in defiance of God's Lordship and rule over our life, in spite of our most valiant efforts at religious devotion; then who can be saved? No one can be saved if it is up to us, but praise God, it is not up to us! God saves us by His power and grace - through the Cross (as Jesus prediction in the next passage points to). Because of His great saving work in our life we are able to humbly surrender our lives to His Lordship, to give up our idols, and let go of the things that hold us captive, and truly follow Him. He gives us a capacity to trust Him and His promises, so that we can walk in obedience, confident that He will grant us the very treasures of heaven. We can leave all, giving up all for His sake, knowing He will repay us many times over for our faithful obedience.
