NUGGETS. • The power of love is when it is experienced. • The cycle of love is incomplete if it is kept only to yourself. • As believers, we are called to experience God's love and commanded to love one another. • Loving others is not a suggestion but a command by God. • Lack of love is the root or mother of many other sins. 1. LOVE IS A WAY OF THINKING ABOUT PEOPLE. • Love is about your commitment to think in a certain way about a person. • What you think about a person will determine your level of love towards them. • Loving God requires you to have the right thoughts about him. • You will never love God well if your thoughts about him are polluted or misinformed. • Your thoughts about other people must be right for your love for them to be strong. • Love will never flow from you towards other people if your thoughts towards them are polluted, tainted, or misinformed. • The goal of Satan is to get you to think of others in negative ways. 4 Major ways Satan attacks our thoughts. - Through OFFENSE - Through SUSPICION. - Through PREJUDICE - Through JUDGMENT. • You cannot think wrongly about someone and love them well. 2. LOVE IS A WAY OF ACTING TOWARDS PEOPLE. • It is easier to act your way into a feeling than to feel your way into an action. • The more you act in love towards people, the more you feel love towards them. • Love is about translating your right thinking about someone into the right actions. • It is possible to show love to someone even when you don't feel it.
