The Imminent Return of Christ - BSGM 2605

The sermon emphasizes the biblical doctrine of the imminent return of Christ to rapture His church—His sudden, unexpected coming at any moment, not contingent on specific prophetic events or human-determined dates. It critiques various eschatological views, including mid-tribulation, pre-wrath, and post-tribulation rapture positions, arguing that any delay or required sequence of events undermines the very essence of imminence. The preacher warns against the dangers of date-setting, citing historical failures like the 1988 and 2011 rapture predictions, which erode faith in Christ's sudden return. Instead, the message calls believers to live in holy anticipation, grounded in Scripture rather than speculative prophecy, and to purify themselves in light of Christ's imminent return, as taught in 1 John 3:2–3. The tone is pastoral and urgent, urging listeners to remain vigilant and faithful, anchored in the Word alone.
