The impact of illegal mining on communities

The Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Mantashe, has raised concern about the impact of illegal mining on communities. He says it is an attack on the country's economy and must be dealt with decisively. Mantashe was speaking during his visit to the China Africa Precious Metals (CAPM) mine in Orkney in the North West. This follows the discovery of 20 bodies believed to be those of illegal miners.
