Through their personal stories, a deeper understanding is provided on the impact of incarceration and how it influences an individuals’ birth story.Kelli’s story is rooted in her experience of being incarcerated. In April 2019, Kelli was sentenced to 20 months and sent to the Maine Correctional Center. Kelli experienced numerous complications with her pregnancy while incarcerated.As for KJ, they also had a life experience that brought them to the occupation of sharing their story with others.
