Change and adaptation is important to the longevity and success of the VistA model. The advantages discovered and lessons learned at one site are adapted to the framework of the existing VistA model. This ability to allow the whole framework to adapt to the changes of the onslaught of the technology is the power of this Open Source model. The capabilities to do AI in this environment has not been fully explored. Some of the potential opportunities will be described in this presentation.
