The Importance of Resilience

from Business Class · host Business Class Collective

Resilience is like a muscle. We need to flex it often to have it work best.  Resilience helps to process and overcome hardship. When lacking resilience, overwhelm can happen quite easily and can lead to unhealthy support systems.  Resilience is important because it helps both individuals and communities to thrive in the face of adversity. It helps to manage times of uncertainty and stress, and helps to protect from anxiety and depression. Each time you work through a stressful situation you have the opportunity to develop your skills over time and improve you response. What might throw you quite easily when you were younger, may seem like water off a ducks back now that you have more experience and know how. Resilience is about your ability to bounce back from the obstacles that life throws at you. It's about having the capacity to emerge stronger, wiser and more capable from the disruption in our thought and feelings.
