Gary is a former deputy director of HIV / AIDS Prevention at CDC where he worked in a variety of positions over a 35-year career. He is also the former Senior Vice-President in charge of Research at Family Health International. In retirement, Gary has been giving lectures at U.N.C. Chapel Hill and Duke Universities where he speaks about his broad career in public health and his work on HIV / AIDS, smallpox, influenza, and other infectious diseases.
