"The Incident that Prompted the Image" - Rev. Jeff VanOsdol
from Immanuel Lutheran Church—Five Forks · host www.immanuellutheranchurch.com
On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, the familiar image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd (John 10) is set back into its original context. Tracing the story from the healing of the man born blind in John 9 through rising conflict with the Pharisees, this sermon shows that Jesus’ words are not abstract poetry but a response to real opposition. The Good Shepherd stands between his sheep and their enemies, confronting false shepherds and laying down his life to give abundant life—while also calling pastors to lead others to him, the true door. Immanuel, God with us, serving our neighbor and one another with His love and forgiveness. Growing in faith to share God's Grace with the greater Simpsonville area for more than three decades. More information about our service times, location, and beliefs can be found on our website at www.immanuellutheranchurch.com.
