Vera Kravtsova, a 26-year-old Belarusian model and singer who once appeared on The Voice, traveled to Thailand in September 2025 for what she believed was a legitimate modeling job. Upon arriving in Yangon, Myanmar, she was coerced into working at a cyber scam compound, forced to pose as a fake online persona to defraud men through romance scams. When she refused to cooperate and failed to meet her targets, she was reportedly sold to an organ trafficking syndicate, killed, and her body cremated. The traffickers contacted her family demanding $500,000 for her ashes, later claiming they had already cremated her. While Thai authorities insist she traveled to Myanmar voluntarily, this case remains a chilling testament to the deadly global underworld of human trafficking.
