The Innocents Chapter 14

In which an ageing man and his wife, having renounced their former lives, traverse the wintry wilderness and unexpectedly find themselves welcomed into the rough camaraderie of a hobo camp, where the wife's practical kindness begins to impose order on the ragged band.
