The Inspirational Story of Josh LaJaunie

from The Exam Room by the Physicians Committee · host The Physicians Committee

Josh LaJaunie is a man who no longer believes in the word "impossible." He no longer thinks he can achieve a goal; he knows that he will. It's a critical distinction that the Louisiana native discovered while doing what he believed to be impossible at the time. Josh achieved a lifelong dream of shedding a massive 400-pound frame and becoming the person he always believed he could be, inside and out. In this conversation with "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll, you'll hear about Josh's plant-powered journey in his own words. The inspiration for his first steps stems from the two biggest loves of his life, his wife and the New Orleans Saints. After the latter marched to an improbable Super Bowl victory, he began developing a game plan of his own. It wasn't long before he stepped out of his front door and went for a run. Shortly thereafter, he ran his first race and hasn't ever slowed down. To date, he's run thousands of miles and has is now at the forefront of the plant-based movement among athletes. The comradery shared by Chuck and Josh in this interview is eye opening. Although both have kept the weight off for a number of years, every day is still viewed with a fresh set of eyes. Now, the only thing the self-professed football fanatics enjoy more than Sunday afternoons during the fall is helping others experience that same wholesome vision.
