The Instrument of Love

Today we are exploring profound themes of faith, love and the transformative power of the Holy Cross. We will discuss overlapping themes focusing on two significant feast days: The Birth of the Theotokos and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  We’ll examine how the pursuit of athletic achievements parallels the spiritual significance of the Cross, symbolizing Christ’s victory over death and calling us to a dedicated life. We’ll also share a story illustrating the Cross as a symbols of Jesus’ union with humanity and HIs triumph over sin.  Finally, we’ll highlight the importance of Divine Liturgy how the “work” prepares us, gives us energy and strength to take up our crosses and follow Christ.
