She specializes in depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders. She is a published author who has presented her research on group psychotherapy nationally and internationally. Dr. Semmelhack is also a licensed massage therapist who practices mind/body work. She is an advocate for individuals and families who struggle with the stigma associated with severe mental health disorders. Dr. Semmelhack is an eclectically oriented therapist who uses a variety of orientations including ACT, DBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, couples and family therapy, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral techniques. She believes in an approach that is bio-psycho-social. She works with the whole person (which at times includes the family). Dr. Semmelhack is one of 4% of all psychologists who is board certified in clinical psychology (ABPP).
