from Black Politics Today · host Black Politics Today

So much so, that song’s were written to address issues in our nations history as far back as slavery, from songs our ancestors sang to give them strength, or to let others now what was going on, or just to thank God for another day. During segregated times and Jim Crow, or the Vietnam War, songs were sang in protest. Lyrics were pinned to express the feelings and moods of the people. And it’s no different today. And music will continue to be a part of our social, economic, and political fabric. My guest tonight join me to discuss music and it's impact on our community but also on our social, economic, and political environment and what it means to African-Americans as they look to the 2020 Presidential Elections. He's musician, artist, and entertainer on the move, with his hit arrangment being debuted on the silver screen for Netflix, Mr. Blake Holmes; and the fire rattler of Independant artistry, Mr. Black Bobby.
