The Interview Show with Austra #150
from The Interview Show Hosted by Scott Wood
Austra started as a bedroom project by Toronto’s Katie Stelmanis, but with Austra‘s second record Olympia, the project has blossomed into a full blown band collaboration and travelling family! When I caught up with Katie backstage at the Commodore Ballroom, we were both a bit sick, but we still managed to have an excellent chat about everything from writing increasingly personal lyrics to female objectification in the music industry to bathhouses. Yes, Austra–the entire band–has been to a bathhouse together. You’ll have to listen to the interview for the entire story! Tracks played on the show... 1) Austra Olympia “Home” 2) Austra Olympia “Painful Like” 3) Austra Feel It Break “Lose It” 4) Austra Olympia “Hurt Me Now” ALL songs CANCON
